Uber has launched a new yacht and leisure boat booking service allowing travellers to book luxury boat experiences across Europe.

European summer is already looking expensive enough but now e-hailing has entered its luxury yacht era.
Because apparently catching an Uber on land is no longer dramatic enough.
The ride-hailing giant is set to launch a new water-based booking service across 23 coastal cities in Italy, Portugal, France, Spain and Croatia. Ja nee, Uber is officially doing the most with this one.
Starting in mid-June, travellers in French hotspots like Nice, Cannes, Saint-Tropez, Marseille, Toulon, Paris and Annecy will be able to book skippered leisure boats directly through the Uber app.
And before anyone starts shouting “Uber Boat!” like it’s a MyCiti replacement on water, relax. This is not about transport. Nobody is using this to get to work on time.
The service is aimed at full-day excursions, sunset cruises, beach hopping and those very Instagrammable Riviera-style outings where everybody suddenly starts dressing like they own linen clothing and have generational wealth.
The prices? Yoh. In this economy, some of us can barely commit to extra onions at Spur, never mind casually booking a yacht off the Uber app like we’re in a Netflix reality show.
According to reports, rates will stay in line with Click&Boat’s existing listings, which range from around $285 (about R5,100) to over $3,400 (roughly R61,000) per day depending on the boat, season and group size.
So yes, your European summer soft life dreams are technically available… if your bank account is emotionally prepared.
Still, the package does include certified professional skippers, meaning nobody in your friend group has to pretend they know how to drive a yacht after watching three shorts and one episode of "Below Deck".
There’s also a little bonus for the loyal babes. Uber One members will get 10% back in Uber credits, which somehow feels both helpful and wildly unnecessary when you’ve already spent thousands floating around the French Riviera pretending you’re in a perfume ad.
One thing is clear though: European summer is no longer just flights, Aperol spritzes and tiny bikinis. Now it’s Uber yachts too.
