AS PART of Breast Cancer Awareness month, the Woodview Cancer Support Group (WCSG) is hosting its annual Cupcakes for Hope sale at Cornubia Mall on October 25, raising funds to support cancer patients and their families through various assistance programmes.

Since 2015, the group has been providing free cancer screening, nutritional support, and counselling services to ensure no one faces cancer alone.

This initiative helps raise funds to sustain the group’s projects and patient assistance programmes which supports cancer patients and their families, with emotional, nutritional, and practical aid.

Founded in 2015, WCSG was born from the vision of ensuring that no one faces cancer alone.

“Today, we continue to uphold our promise through a wide range of services, including free cancer screening and health testing at community wellness days, nutritional hampers for underprivileged patients, free counselling and home visits,” said chairman, Mishendran Pillay.

They also host educational and empowerment talks at schools, places of worship, and workplaces to promote early detection and healthy living.

The WCSG currently supports around 40 cancer patients on its database.

“One can get involved by baking, buying, or donating cupcakes. Whether you donate a dozen treats, purchase a box, or simply stop by to show your support, every contribution adds up to hope, care, and compassion for someone in need,” said PRO, Calyn Lalsing.

For more information or to donate cupcakes, contact Zainab on 083 412 4263 or Mishendran on 083 993 7594.
