Kaizer Chiefs player Pule Mmodi is focussed on putting in the work to produce the performances for his club, despite having already engaged in talks about his future with the Soweto Giants.
Mmodi did not feature even on the bench for Chiefs on Sunday in their goalless Betway Premiership draw against hosts Polokwane City over the weekend.
In fact, the forward has played 25 games across all competitions this season and managed just one goal.
However, Mmodi’s agent, Future Sports Management agent Parable Hlatshwayo, could not shed any light on his future.
Mmodi’s Future Uncertain: Kaizer Chiefs Player Focuses on Current Season
“There were talks, but they were paused because he is currently concentrated on the team, so right now, he belongs to Kaizer Chiefs,” Hlatshwayo told SportsBoom.co.za.
“He belongs to Chiefs until the last day of the season, and that is only when we will confirm where he is headed.”
Hlatshwayo, though, made sure to mention that beyond the end of the season, Mmodi would be open to offers.
“If there are some other teams that are interested in him, then the door is open, but currently he is still a Kaizer Chiefs player.”
In the meantime, Mmodi has no choice but to keep putting in the work in training.
“We had conversations with the club, but we decided to let him concentrate on the team currently because we know what was happening previously, so let him focus on his game, and the rest will take care of itself,” said Hlatshwayo.
Chiefs will now look ahead to the Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates on Sunday at FNB Stadium. Whether Mmodi features at all, remains to be seen.
