The Bulls revealed several big signings on Monday, signalling their ambitions for next season’s United Rugby Championship (URC).
Springbok flyhalf Curwin Bosch returns to South Africa from French club Brive, while current Munster utility back Thaakir Abrahams has also signed a two-year deal. The Bulls have also secured the services of exciting Sharks prospect Luan Giliomee to shore up their number 10 stocks.
Further strengthening the back three is former Junior Springbok fullback Hakeem Kunene (on a three-year contract), alongside wing Dylan Maart and Pumas outside centre Sango Xamlashe (two years), both of whom will join the squad following the conclusion of this year’s Currie Cup.

The Pretoria-based outfit have also signed tighthead prop Mawande Ndanda from the Sharks for two years, while former Baby Bok captain Hanro Liebenberg will return to Pretoria ahead of the 2026/27 season on a three-year deal. The 30-year-old Liebenberg has been plying his trade at Leicester Tigers, where he has made nearly 150 appearances for the club since joining in 2019.
Blue Bulls Company CEO Edgar Rathbone emphasised that these signings are the result of a calculated strategy to keep the franchise competitive at the highest level.
“We have been very deliberate in our recruitment process, identifying specific areas where we felt we needed to bolster our depth and experience,” said Rathbone, via a statement.
“Bringing in players of this calibre, ranging from proven match-winners to the most exciting young talent in the country, is a clear statement of our intent. We are building a squad capable of sustained success in both the URC and Europe, and we are thrilled to welcome these men to the Loftus family.”
The Bulls are currently fourth in the URC and will be seeking to secure a home quarter-final berth on Saturday when they face Benetton at Loftus Versfeld (kick-off 4pm).
