The Sharks have reshuffled their pack and backline ahead of Saturday’s United Rugby Championship (URC) grudge clash against Munster at Kings Park in Durban.
Head coach JP Pietersen has made eight changes to his starting XV, headlined by the return tp the starting line-up of Siya Kolisi, who will earn his 50th cap for the franchise. The Springbok captain slots into the loose trio alongside Vincent Tshituka and Phepsi Buthelezi.
Up-front, a new-look front row sees Phatu Ganyane, Fez Mbatha and Hanro Jacobs promoted to the starting side, while in the backs, Springbok regular Grant Williams replaces the injured Jaden Hendrikse at scrumhalf.
There is further reshuffling in midfield, where Ethan Hooker partners captain Andre Esterhuizen, while Yaw Penxe comes in on the wing. Exciting youngster Luan Giliomee, who recently made his Springbok Sevens debut, will make his Sharks debut at fullback.
The match also marks a major milestone for Makazole Mapimpi, who will earn his 100th cap for the Sharks, becoming one of a select group to reach the landmark.
The Sharks remain focused on their push to reach the URC playoffs despite recent disappointing results, with a Top 8 finish still within reach. Flyhalf Jordan Hendrikse emphasised the importance of accuracy against the Irish visitors.
