After a perfect start to the Six Nations with two wins from two, France are once again favourites to defend their title.

Last year, France broke a run of two titles in a row for Ireland and now seem to be the form rugby side in the northern hemisphere.

The World Rugby rankings also back that up, with South Africa first and followed by New Zealand. France are now third as they have overtaken England.

Former England international Ben Foden said it would be good for the game if France were to overcome the Springboks in November when the sides meet next.

Foden Compares South Africa and France Rugby Styles Ahead of Nations Championship

“They are two contrasting styles. South Africa are a very structured, very physical side. France are like a 2010 New Zealand team, throwing balls out the back, offloads, Sonny Bill Williams down the middle,” Foden told BOYLE Sports, who offer the latest Six Nations odds.

“New Zealand dominated that era. But at the moment, the way the game consists of the 40 kicks, structure does play a big part.

“I'd love to watch South Africa v France in the next two years. The world will be wanting France to win because they play such a ridiculous style of rugby. It's just a feast for the eyes and a proper spectacle.”

The first Nations Championship will feature the Springboks in addition to the Six Nations countries as well as six Southern Hemisphere teams, namely: Argentina, Australia, Fiji, Japan, and New Zealand.
