Laura Wolvaardt's Proteas Women set to face powerful India squad for home T20I series

India Women have named a powerful squad for their tour to South Africa next month.
The ODI World Cup champions are set to play five T20Is across the country against the Proteas Women’s team in the build-up to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England later this year.
Captain Harmanpreet Kaur will once again lead the team with her able deputy Smriti Mandhana alongside her.
Women’s World Cup Player of the Tournament Deepti Sharma has also been included along with the exciting Jemimah Rodrigues.
In the fast-bowling department, Renuka Singh will lead the front along with Arundhati Reddy, Anushka Sharma, Bharti Fulmali, Kranti Gaud and Kashvee Gautam.
The Proteas Women’s team are currently in New Zealand where they have already surrendered the five-match T20I series against the White Ferns with one game to play in Christchurch on Wednesday.
Laura Wolvaardt’s team will also face the Kiwis in a three-match ODI series before returning home to face India.
The first T20I will be played at Kingmead in Durban on Friday 17 April before the second at the same venue two days later on Sunday, 19.
The tour then moves up north for two matches at the Wanderers - 22 and 25 April - before concluding at Willowmoore Park in Benoni on 27 April.
The last time these two sides met was in the Women's ODI World Cup final last year.
