NC’s Royal Wizards eliminated from Sasol League play-offs

NORTHERN Cape based women’s football team Royal Wizards from Kimberley were, on Tuesday, booted out of the group stages of the Sasol League national play-offs which are taking place at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Limpopo.

The Sasol play-off results rendered on Safa’s website ‘Mysafa’, for the women’s national play-offs indicate that Royal Wizards were played out of the ground by KwaZulu-Natal outfit Lindelani Ladies FC who beat Wizards six goals to none (6-0).

A hat-trick from Zethembiso Vilakazi, a goal from captain Londeka Gumede and further strikes from Anele Miya and substitute Mandisa Faya gave the KZN youngsters a comfortable win.

The Safa site further reported that the Galeshewe team Royal Wizards also lost their second match in the group stages when NWU Tawana beat them 2-0 on the second day of the tournament.

Ace Mofokeng, owner-manager of Royal Wizards was not available for comment at the time of going to press.
