FAVOURITE BATSMEN
As an indication of the problems he caused left-handers, the players Ntini has dismissed the most are all southpaws, bruising hitters and openers.
Chris Gayle (WI), Matthew Hayden (Aus), Marcus Trescothick (Eng) - 9
FAVOURITE WICKET
Steve Waugh
Not so much how he got him - a fairly simple catch to Kallis at second slip - but more who he got. Ntini rated the great former Australian captain as one of his toughest opponents. "I watched Allan Donald try and tear him apart and he was still standing, so for me to get him out was something huge," Ntini said of dismissing Waugh in the third Test in Durban in 2002. Waugh was the ninth man out in the Australian second innings and South Africa went on to claim a consolation win by successfully chasing 335 in the final innings
TOUGHEST OPPONENT
Brian Lara
Though he dismissed Lara on four occasions, Ntini described his battles against the great West Indian as among the most intense of his career.
"Man, I knew when I got him ... I was flying."
Ntini achieved a unique double against the flamboyant left-hander when he dismissed him in both innings in the second Test in Port of Spain, Trinidad, in 2001. South Africa won the Test by 69 runs.
FAVOURITE MATCH
Lord's 2003 First Test v England
Ntini became the first South African bowler to claim 10 wickets in a match at the home of cricket.
"Being the first South African to do that, I wanted that. When the moment came through, I didn't feel myself; I just saw the crowd left and right and everyone was standing and clapping, and I just felt at that moment I had to kiss the ground at Lord's."
Ntini's final match figures were: 48-8-220-10.
