Smith is single and ready to mingle

There was good news coming out of the South African cricket camp yesterday for all single women... Graeme Smith has no permanent girlfriend and is single and available.

That was the news that emerged from the Proteas captain on Wednesday when he spoke at a special breakfast in Durban with Ricky Ponting on the eve of Friday's first Test against Australia at Sahara Stadium, Kingsmead.

Smith, who hogged the headlines a few years ago with his relationship with glamour model Minki van der Westhuizen, said he had moved on, matured and was happily single.

"What's the point of dating a girl and then waiting eight weeks until the next one? I am on the go and travelling the world most of the year. I just haven't got time for a girlfriend," said Smith.
