PSL games on Euro TV?

Premier Soccer League matches may shortly be televised in Europe by pay station EuroSport.

This was announced by PSL chairperson Irvin Khoza in his end-of-the-year address to the media.

Said Khoza: "We have been approached by Eurosport to televise 200 games. This shows confidence and the quality of the PSL. It has nothing to do with the 2010 World Cup. Simply they want to show our matches on their channels. This is very encouraging and satisfying."

Khoza said the media had played a role in publicising the PSL. He also said that due to the world financial crisis, the PSL had been unable to attract a sponsor for its National First Division. Said Khoza: "We hope to obtain a sponsor for NFD by the end of the season."

Khoza added that the PSL and the SA Football Association were in discussions over forming a fully professional refereeing panel for the PSL. - Sapa
