Moeneeb has no fear facing United

Orlando Pirates new boys Moeneeb Josephs and Benson Mhlongo are not having sleepless nights about the prospect of facing Manchester United superstars such as striker Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez in the Vodacom Challenge.

The two Bafana Bafana stars will be making their official debut for the Buccaneers against the European champions at the Absa Stadium in Durban on Tuesday night.

"This is what being a professional soccer player is all about: playing against the best in the world. It is tremendous that we are given this chance to play against United and the likes of Rooney," Josephs enthused on Wednesday.

The goalkeeper, who stated that he was not in the least nervous, added: "Afterwards I will think, hey, I just played against Manchester United, but during the game it will simply be another day at the office. My job will be to stop United from scoring any goals. Nerves aren't part of my make-up."

Josephs, who turned 28 in May, was the captain of Wits University last season, but has no regrets about having left the Clever Boys.

"Since my days at Ajax Cape Town, I've always wanted to play for Pirates. It is a dream come true and I aim to make the most of this great chance. Just pulling on the Pirates jersey will be a great honour. The time was right for me to join the club and I want to do really well for them." - Sapa
