Bodi in for Twenty20

Aggressive Titans left-hander Gulam Bodi is a notable inclusion in the South African Twenty20 side for the game against the West Indies on December 16.

Bodi, who was named in the squad for the World T20 but did not play a match, recently voiced his displeasure at being left out of the South African ODI squad for the series against New Zealand.

Bodi said on Wednesday that his selection was "a good opportunity to show what I can do".

In 27 matches in this format, Bodi has scored 443 runs at the mediocre average of 23.31. But his strike rate of 113.29 is exceptional.

"We did not consider Jacques Kallis, Mark Boucher and Andre Nel as they all have a heavy workload coming up with the Test series and the one-day series against the West Indies," said selection chief Joubert Strydom.

Dale Steyn, the fast-bowler who turned the New Zealanders a whiter shade of pale during the Test series, will get a game next Sunday.

Morne van Wyk is on standby in case Graeme Smith does not recover from illness in time. Then Pollock will take over the captaincy.

Chris Gayle, who has since been named West Indies captain, is likely to miss the game in Port Elizabeth because of hamstring injury. Dwayne Bravo takes over leadership.

South Africa will play the West Indies in three Tests - the first of which starts in PE on December 26 - five one-day internationals and two Pro20 matches.
