Titans batsman and captain Martin van Jaarsveld and Dolphins bowler Quinton Friend have been found guilty of breaching Cricket South Africa's rules and code of conduct and have been suspended for two and one SuperSport Series match respectively.

Van Jaarsveld will not be permitted to play against the Eagles in Benoni from November 8 -11 and against the Warriors in Port Elizabeth the following week.

Friend will not be permitted to play against the Warriors in East London from November 8 -11.

This was announced by CSA on Tuesday following Van Jaarsveld and Friend's appearances before the CSA's disciplinary commissioner advocate Michael Kuper, SC.

The appearances follow reports lodged by the match officials in respect of Van Jaarsveld and Titans coach Richard Pybus in respect of Friend, in terms of Clause 1.3 of the Rules and Code of Conduct of CSA.

The reports arose from a series of incidents that occurred during the SuperSport Series match between the Titans and Dolphins at Kingsmead.

The conduct and actions of both players were considered in breach of clause 1.3 of the Rules and Code of Conduct of Cricket South Africa.

Neither player has indicated that they intend appealing the ruling. - Sapa
