Three changes to SA women's cricket team
The South Africa women's cricket team selectors have been forced to make three changes to their side on the eve of their one-day International series against Pakistan in Tshwane.
Team captain Shandre Fritz sustained a neck injury while diving into a swimming pool. Cri-Zelda Brits, a 23-year-old right-handed batsman from North West, will take over the captaincy. Fritz will be replaced by Mignon du Preez from Northerns.
Alicia Smith is being rested as she has unfortunately not recovered from illness. She will be replaced by Kirsten Blair of Gauteng and Angelique Taai comes in for Shafeeqa Pillay who failed a fitness test.
Pakistan are based at the University of Pretoria's High Performance Centre for the duration of their tour.
Pakistan are currently ranked 10th on the International Cricket Council's women's world rankings, three places below South Africa (7).
Pakistan will be led by Urooj Mumtaz (22).
With the World Cup qualifiers taking place in Pakistan in November this year, both teams will use this series as part of their preparations.
