Stars and Dynamoes share the spoils

Free State Stars and the Limpopo-based side Dynamos have drawn 1-1 in their Premier League soccer match at the Charles Mopeli Stadium on Tuesday.

Stars led 1-0 at the interval after the visitors rearguard failed to clear and defender Martin Caralse slid the ball home past his own goalkeeper, Malawian international Sedwick Sanudi.

The Stars players showed they meant business from the start, playing as if their very lives depended on it. However, they were let down by some poor finishing, which saw five clear-cut chances go begging, disappointing their fans.

Dynamos lifted their game in the second-half, probably after receiving a roasting from coach Lifa Qhosha.

Their efforts were eventually rewarded in the 74th minute, when Mpho Maleka received a square pass from Solly Mmethi and nodded the ball home past Filma Mashinini.

The game was a replay of last Saturday's match, which was abandoned due to heavy and incessant rain. - Sapa
