Davenport and Mauresmo in Filderstadt final

FilderstadtT, Germany - Lindsay Davenport of the US, who defeated third-seeded Russian Anastasia Myskina 6-2 6-4, will meet world number one Amelie Mauresmo in Sunday's Filderstadt Gand Prix women's final.

Davenport recovered from 0-3 in the second set, but her opening set was far easier.

After both players had lost their opening service game, the American swept the next four games for the loss of five points.

In the second set, Myskina took a 2-0 lead on her third break point when Davenport put a double-handed backhand long. The Russian then looked capable of taking the match to a third set as she struck some impressive winners.

But Davenport rediscovered her aggressive edge, breaking back at 2-4 when Myskina netted a forehand, holding at love to level at 4-4 and going on to break again in the ninth game as she claimed the last five games. - Reuters
