Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates could clash in Cape Town over the Easter weekend.
The North's two glamour clubs will be represented at the annual Metropolitan Premier Cup under-19 soccer tournament, organised by the Bay Hill United club.
The tournament started out as a local competition, then a few clubs from up country participated, and last year it had an international flavour when the Salford School from Manchester in England took part.
The sponsors' Daniel Johnson said that with the top clubs in the country clamouring to be part of the tournament, it could become necessary for clubs to play qualifying rounds in their areas, as is done in the Western Province.
"The tournament could become a continental showpiece for under-19s," added Johnson.
For the second year the tournament will be held at the Erica Park complex in Belhar from Friday, March 29 to Monday, April 1.
Besides Chiefs and Pirates, there will be seven other visiting teams - Wits University and Supersport United (both PSL), Arcadia Shepherds, Rentmeester Tuks, Johannesburg School of Excellence, University of Port Elizabeth School of Excellence and Diamond United from Windhoek.
The three local PSL sides will be represented, with defending champions Ajax Cape Town leading the way and Santos (twice winners) and Hellenic (five time winners) ready to make their mark again.
The other SAFA Western Province clubs are: Juventus, Liverpool-Portland, Kenpark United, Strandfontein, Westridge, Dalmas Midas, Woodlands, Mother City, Young Pirates, Trinitarians, Bellville United, Belstar, Wynberg-St John's, Rygersdal Aces, SAFA WP Invitation Xl and hosts Bay Hill United.
- The annual Thornhill tournament for seniors and juniors will be played from April 5-7.
