Zurich - Chilean goalkeeper Roberto Rojas, banned for life in 1989 for faking an injury during a World Cup qualifier against Brazil, has been granted an amnesty by Fifa.

Chile were banned from the qualifiers for the 1994 World Cup following the incident when a firecracker thrown from the crowd landed near Rojas who collapsed in a heap and was carried off covered in a red liquid.

The woman who threw the cracker later posed naked for the Brazilian edition of Playboy.
