The Gauteng MEC for Education, Mr Matome Chiloane, is expected to visit the scene of a tragic private scholar transport incident that took place on Monday, January 19, 2026, in Vanderbijlpark.
Preliminary reports indicate that 11 learners have died at the scene, while five others sustained critical injuries and are currently en route to hospital for urgent medical care.
