The first week inside the Big Brother Mzansi Bazozwa house has wasted no time delivering emotion, tension, and early warning signs of a season that may be anything but peaceful.

The week opened on an emotional note with Cia breaking down in tears, quickly becoming the house’s most vulnerable presence. During a conversation with Ofentse, the two attempted to unpack what had triggered her emotions, but Cia struggled to fully articulate her feelings. As the conversation stalled, Ofentse grew impatient and told her to call him when she was ready to speak.

Cia later admitted that she was coming to a difficult realisation that she felt like a guest in Biggie’s house and believed she was being tested. Despite the honesty of the moment, she continued to battle to express herself, cementing her place as the standout for tears and emotional vulnerability in the opening days.

Marcia “Cia” Morata is a 30-year-old professional teacher from Mamelodi in Pretoria who entered "Big Brother Mzansi" Season 6 with confidence in her emotional awareness and life experience.

Cia exits the Bazozwa house

Cia officially left the Big Brother Mzansi: Bazozwa house, becoming the first housemate to depart the competition since the season launched on Sunday, January 11, 2026.

Her exit follows several emotionally charged moments during the week. On Thursday, Cia was visibly distressed and broke down in tears. Earlier on Friday morning, after a scheduled yoga session, she indicated that she was not feeling well and approached Big Brother for assistance.

According to a statement from the producers, Cia “received immediate support” and was later assessed by the on-site psychologist. Following this evaluation, “and in the best interest of her wellbeing, the decision was made that she should leave the Big Brother house.”

The statement further confirmed that “Cia will continue to receive the support she needs after leaving the competition.”

MultiChoice Group, a CANAL+ company, together with the producers of Big Brother Mzansi, reiterated their commitment to housemate welfare, stating that they “remain committed to the care and well-being of all housemates,” and wished Cia well “in her future endeavours.”

As emotions ran high, the reality of the housemates’ first lost wager also began to sink in. With limited food resources guaranteed for the week ahead, concerns around portions, fairness and contribution started bubbling beneath the surface. History has shown that food shortages often amplify tension in the Big Brother house, and Bazozwa appears no different. Questions around who eats what, who cooks, and who pulls their weight are already looming—fertile ground for future conflict.

Party sparks romance and drama

The housemates’ first Saturday night party saw the dance floor turn into a mix of energy, flirtation, and affectionate moments. Neliswa and The Don were noticeably cosy throughout the night, moving from the dance floor to playful touches and kisses making it clear their connection is growing, and not just behind closed doors.

Romance also spilled into drama when Didi openly flirted with Mmeli and boldly asked him to join her outside. She confessed that she liked him, a revelation that didn’t stay private for long. Mmeli later told Thandeka about the confession, instantly adding another layer of tension to an already tense dynamic.

Fake eviction shakes the house

Sunday night’s Big Brother Mzansi Live Show brought suspense and nerves, marking the housemates’ first eviction scare of the season. While anxiety levels were visibly high, relief followed when it was revealed that no one would be leaving the house, the eviction was fake.

Opening the show in full mode, Smash wasted no time probing the housemates, leaving several visibly stunned. While no major bombshells were dropped, the tone was set: nothing in Biggie’s house will come easy.

Earlier in the week, Big Brother hosted a welcome dinner that included a game where housemates picked envelopes, collected bracelets, and answered a series of questions. What initially seemed like a harmless activity may now carry deeper meaning. Each housemate discovered that someone else in the house has the same colour bracelet, sparking speculation about possible pairings. Whether this signals a future twist remains unconfirmed, but the house is already buzzing with theories.

Adding to the excitement, popular influencer and digital content creator Naledi M appeared on stage to announce a new segment, Spills With Biggie, which she will host every Friday at 7pm on Mzansi Magic Channel 161.

Explosive fallout after the show

Following the live show, tensions escalated sharply. Thandeka appeared visibly annoyed with her pairing, a reaction that followed comments allegedly made by King Wanda, who reportedly said he felt “abandoned by his ancestors” after being paired with her.

Thandeka fired back, throwing verbal jabs and mocking King Wanda’s unemployment. While King Wanda remained quiet, other housemates stepped in to de-escalate the situation. Liema, however, took a bold stand and confronted Thandeka directly, using vulgar language and declaring that she would be Thandeka’s “match.”

Liema’s outburst appeared to be the culmination of simmering frustration. In the heated exchange, she listed the growing number of clashes Thandeka has been involved in, including earlier tensions with Didi and Ofentse, a disagreement with Kokii and Dube over using the oven to dry a wig, and now confrontations with both King Wanda and Liema.

Several housemates have since voiced concerns that Thandeka is often defensive and struggles to take accountability, a sentiment that seems to be gaining traction inside the house.

Far from peaceful

With emotions already spilling over, fake evictions shaking confidence, food shortages looming, new segments launching, and rumours of pairings still unconfirmed, the Bazozwa house appears far from finding its rhythm let alone peace.

And with more twists promised and alliances beginning to shift, the real question is no longer if tensions will explode again, but who will be at the center of the next storm.
