Gagasi FM has officially announced that popular radio personality Felix Hlophe will be making his much-anticipated return to the airwaves on Monday, January 19, 2026. After a period of reflection and recovery, Felix will resume hosting The Uprising, a morning show he co-hosts with Minnie Ntuli, bringing back the engaging banter and vibrant discussions that have characterised the show.

Felix's temporary departure from the station was prompted by a viral video that ignited significant conversation across social media platforms in late December. As a response, Gagasi FM initially offered him a break to address personal matters. This off-air period included two weeks of scheduled annual leave, during which the station undertook internal evaluations in accordance with its policies.

In a statement released today, Gagasi FM expressed confidence in Felix's readiness to return, emphasising their commitment to supporting the well-being of their talent while ensuring adherence to the station's values and standards. The management reiterated that the station was satisfied with the steps taken, allowing Felix to focus on his mental and emotional health during his time away.

“The station is satisfied that Felix is ready to return to his on-air role,” Gagasi FM said, adding that it remains committed to supporting the well-being of its talent while upholding the values and standards of the station.

The decision to place Felix off air came in the wake of allegations stemming from a viral video, which led to widespread speculation and concern among listeners. Responding to the controversy, Felix publicly denied any claims of physical violence, clarifying that despite heightened emotions during the incident, no assault occurred and no arrests were made.

The decision to temporarily remove Hlophe from the air followed allegations that emerged after a video went viral online.

Gagasi FM previously indicated that they would refrain from speculation while navigating the situation, assuring listeners that all updates would be provided once internal processes were complete. With these processes concluded, the station is now ready to welcome back Felix to his morning slot, which runs Monday to Friday from 6am to 9am.

Following confirmation of his return, Hlophe took to Instagram, posting the message: “THE KING RETURNS”, accompanied by the caption, “The comeback is always stronger than the setback.”

In a show of gratitude, Gagasi FM thanked its listeners for their patience and steadfast support as the situation unfolded, reaffirming the station’s commitment to provide quality programming that resonates with its audience.

As Felix Hlophe gears up for his return to Gagasi FM, listeners can expect an engaging morning filled with lively discussions and the signature energy that has made The Uprising a fan favourite. Don’t miss the comeback of this beloved host.
