At its core, insurance is about anticipating risk; not just responding when things go wrong. At dotsure.co.za, this way of thinking extends far beyond policies. It’s a mindset rooted in risk prevention versus crisis management, focused on reducing risk before crisis, both for their clients and the communities they serve.

Through a digital insurance model, dotsure.co.za has reimagined what modern insurance can look like. From paperless insurance and online access to smarter, more inclusive cover. But leadership with impact goes further than efficiency. It asks a bigger question: how can business apply the same preventative thinking used in insurance to help strengthen society?

For dotsure.co.za, the answer lies in long-term risk reduction by supporting initiatives that build stability early. Whether that’s food security, mobility support, or community upliftment.

As a leading SA insurance company, dotsure.co.za believes business must benefit more than balance sheets. It must support people and pets, protect progress and help build resilience in communities.

“NPOs have deep community insight and trust, while businesses have scale and systems,” explains Chief Commercial Officer at dotsure.co.za, Glen Anderson. “When those strengths come together, exponential impact is possible.”

The power of prevention through partnership

Local NPOs play a critical role in reducing long-term social risk. They understand what the community needs at ground level and often intervene before challenges become crises.

For us, corporate social investment (CSI) isn’t a side project. It’s the foundation of how we choose to exist as a responsible corporate citizen,” says Anderson. “Businesses can’t afford to be distant observers. They need to be active participants in building the society they benefit from.

This belief drives dotsure.co.za’s community upliftment efforts, from their food security initiative to animal welfare and mobility support programmes. It is also reinforced by a strong people-first culture, supported by employee development programmes and workplace learning and growth.

From intention to real-world impact

By working closely with NPO partners, dotsure.co.za turns business-led social impact into tangible outcomes. Over the past three years alone, this resulted in over:

  • R1 million contributed to animal welfare, including preventative programmes in collaboration with the Animal Anti-Cruelty League (AACL), the Garden Route SPCA, and veterinary practices,
  • R2 million in support of the SA Guide-Dogs Association,
  • Six million meals delivered through food security initiatives.

These efforts reflect more than donations. They demonstrate purpose-driven organisations using prevention-focused thinking to reduce long-term vulnerability. “Many NPOs are built on the power of small, consistent acts of support,” says Anderson. “When businesses underestimate their ability to help, they miss the ripple effect they can create.”
