A household in Gugulethu got the shock of their lives when a Golden Arrow Bus crashed into their yard on Saturday.

The incident reportedly took place on the corner of NY3 and NY4.

Video and images of the incident showing the bus halfway inside the resident’s yard were shared widely on social media, with many expressing their concern for the safety of the residents.

The circumstances surrounding this incident have not yet been confirmed as Cape Argus sister publication, Daily Voice did not get a response from Golden Arrow Bus Services by the deadline on Sunday.

Captain F.C Van Wyk, a spokesperson for the Western Cape South African Police Service, confirmed that luckily no injuries were reported.

Van Wyk reports, “An accident report was registered at Gugulethu SAPS. No injuries were reported.”

This is not the first time a heavy duty vehicle has crashed into the home of a resident.

Just on Thursday, a truck crashed into a kitchen at a Bothasig home while the owner and some colleagues were enjoying their morning coffee.

The accident reportedly left one person injured.

A video of the accident was shared online, showing the truck driving along the corners of Bosmansdam and Ocean Spirit Avenue.

It appeared that the truck swerved from a MyCiTi bus when it made a sharp turn to avoid impact and hit a vehicle before crashing into the house.

The owner, Frank Samunda told Cape Argus that he and his colleagues were drinking coffee in the kitchen while one of the ladies was cooking, when he heard a loud sound coming from the right side of the kitchen.

Samunda said that the truck first crashed through the walls and then crashed through the kitchen door, leaving everyone in shock.
