Police crackdown: Three arrested for drug dealing in Vrygrond and Kraaifontein
Police seize a significant haul of drugs during a recent operation in Vrygrond and Kraaifontein, leading to the arrest of three suspects, including two teenagers.

Police have arrested three suspects, including two 18-year-old boys, for dealing in drugs in two different communities. At the first residence in Vrygrond, police found 40 sachets of tik.
A 21-year-old man was arrested at the scene on Monday. Police spokesperson Thembakazi Mpendukana explained: “Members of Operation Prosper deployed in Muizenberg and Kraaifontein were conducting patrol operations on May 25, 2026, when they received intelligence about suspected drug activities happening in the areas.
The members quickly went to the mentioned address at Frederick Road, Vrygrond, Muizenberg, at around 5pm, leading to the arrest of a 21-year-old male suspect for dealing and possession of drugs.
The police reports state that the members found and confiscated 40 sachets of tik, seven mandrax tablets, including an undisclosed amount of cash believed to be the proceeds of crime on the premises. He was arrested and detained at Muizenberg SAPS and will appear at Wynberg Magistrate’s Court once charged.”
Mpendukana said, meanwhile, in Kraaifontein, two teenage males (18) were caught with 30 sachets of tik, nine sachets of cocaine, six mandrax tablets, one quarter mandrax tablet, and an undisclosed amount of cash in their possession.
“This incident occurred at Buiten Street, Kraaifontein, at 5.30pm while the members were still busy with patrols,” Mpendukana said. “Both suspects were arrested for dealing in drugs and will appear in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court once they have been charged.”
