A SHOCKING scene unfolded in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court yesterday morning as 63-year-old Aletta Rose, accused of murdering her sister, unleashed a torrent of expletives directed at the prosecutor and the judicial system.
The dramatic courtroom eruption followed allegations that Rose beheaded and dismembered her sister, Constance "Connie" Scholtz, aged 79, inside her Bellville South home on March 19.
Rose was previously convicted of murdering her brother-in-law (her husband’s brother) in 1997 when she stabbed him in his chest during an argument with her husband.
When Rose appeared in court on Tuesday morning, she threw her legal aid representative under the bus for not speaking Afrikaans.
The case was postponed to yesterday, where a new Afrikaans-speaking legal representative was present.
However, Rose said she does not want him either and that he can "f*k*f".
During the court proceedings, Rose said she "was done with the case" and would not be seen in court again.
Her legal aid representative said she is not cooperative, and that he cannot get through to her.
When the magistrate addressed her as "Mevrou Rose", (Mrs Rose) she corrected him by saying, "It’s Mejuffrou" (Miss).
The magistrate then asked her to stand up and speak straight into the microphone.
She then said into the mic: “Hello, die ding is dood (Hello, the thing is dead)”.
Moving on, the magistrate asked her if she wanted a legal aid representative or not.
Rose responded: “At the moment, I want nothing to do with any of you, julle almal is ‘n klomp liegbekke dis hoekom.” (You are all liars, that's why).
Referring to the prosecutor, she said: “Especially that thing sitting there, swartgat. I said so. You will get nothing out of me until you treat me with decency and at least speak the truth. Until then, I am refusing everything. Thank you.”
When the magistrate asked if he should dismiss the new Afrikaans legal aid, Rose responded: “He can fo**f for all I care.”
The matter was postponed to May 28, for a mental evaluation.
After the magistrate ordered the evaluation, Rose replied: “I am not ill. There is nothing wrong with my mind. I am not coming (to the next court date)."
She then took her belongings and left the courtroom without being dismissed during the proceedings.
Murmuring could be heard in the courtroom, with people saying: “Sy is onbeskof”.(She is rude)
