Body of missing Masiphumelele man found on Fish Hoek beach

Fish Hoek police have opened an inquest after the body of a missing 44-year-old Masiphumelele man was found on Fish Hoek beach on Wednesday.

The body of a 44-year-old man from Masiphumelele was found on Fish Hoek beach on Wednesday, 20 May.

Fish Hoek police spokesperson Warrant Officer Peter Middleton said the body had washed ashore and was later identified by family members who arrived at the scene.

The man’s name has not yet been released.

Ocean View visible policing commander Captain Nick Spreeth confirmed that the man had been reported missing, with a missing persons case opened on Monday, May 11.

Middleton said the circumstances surrounding the death are being investigated by the Fish Hoek Detective Branch.
