Bishop Lavis detectives have appealed to the public who may have witnessed a hit and run incident in which a 13-year-old boy was killed on May 12.
SAPS spokesperson, Wesley Twigg, said the incident happened on the corner of Valhalla Drive and Robert Sobukwe Road at about 3:23pm.
According to reports, Twigg said the victim was hit by the driver of an unknown vehicle who fled the scene.
A culpable homicide case was registered for investigation.
"Bishop Lavis detectives appeal to members of the public who may have witnessed an accident at the corner of Valhalla Drive and Robert Sobukwe Road on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at about 3:23, in which a 13-year-old boy was fatally injured.
"According to reports, the victim was hit by the driver of an unknown vehicle who fled the scene.
"A culpable homicide case was registered for investigation," said Twigg.

The incident follows a 9-year-old boy who lost his life in a devastating hit-and-run incident on Melton Road, Kleinvlei in December, where a reckless driver reportedly sped through a three-way stop.
It also follows the killing of Alex Scott, 21, on November 30, after he was struck by a vehicle in Bellville, in hit-and-run, allegedly by an off-duty cop who was later arrested.
