Police seize over 600 sachets of crystal methamphetamine and an illegal firearm during a raid on a Delft couple's home, highlighting ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crime in the area.

Police have arrested a Delft couple for allegedly dealing in drugs and being in possession of a firearm.
Police’s National Intervention Unit (NIU) said the team was following up on intelligence that illegal activity was taking place at a residence in Mulanje Street on Thursday.
Police spokesperson, Constable Ndakhe Gwala, explained that over 600 sachets of crystal methamphetamine and an illegal firearm with the serial number filed off were found at the arrest. The couple, aged 25 and 41, were arrested.
“The duo was apprehended in the early hours of Thursday, March 12, by members of the NIU at their Delft home. Members followed up on intelligence about illegal activity taking place at an address in Mulanje Street, Matroosfontein, Delft,” she explained.
“Upon arrival, they found a 9mm pistol without a serial number, eight rounds of ammunition, and 648 sachets of crystal meth with an estimated street value of R28,420.00. A 41-year-old man was arrested along with his 25-year-old girlfriend.
They will appear in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court once they have been charged.”
