A group of furious holidaymakers is demanding their money back from a couple who they allegedly paid for festive holiday getaways, only for their trips to be cancelled and their refunds never issued.

About 14 people claim they were scammed out of their money after booking with F and R Holiday Accommodation – run by a married couple.

Jadeen Voigt said she met the woman on Facebook in 2020 and booked a trip through the company in 2021 to Club Mykonos Resort and had a great time.

In December 2025, she decided to dial the company’s number again, booking a three-night stay from January 2, for her and friends at Langebaan Country Estate and paid R16 500.

Voigt says everything was arranged, but then she got a call at the last minute to tell her that the accommodation was cancelled and they still haven’t been refunded.

She explained: “We were four families. We had to leave on January 2, and then I got a message from one of the owners.

“He said that our booking was cancelled, I need to send my banking details, and he is going to send me a refund.

“I trusted them, thinking that they wouldn’t scam me because I booked with them before.

“The wife is nou net doodstil, (now silent) she doesn’t reply. Every time I ask when I’m getting my money, the husband just says that I will get the money, they are busy.”

Voigt said she has opened a case of fraud to get her money back.

Najuwa Shabodien said she also booked with the company in February 2025.

She was looking forward to a lekker four-day December stay at Club Mykonos after paying R13 500, but after seeing mense on Facebook complaining about the company, her trip was cancelled too.

Shabodien said: “I saw on Facebook their names and people saying that they were scammed by them, and I got a bit worried. I was informed that our booking was cancelled because no payment was made to secure our holiday accommodation.

“When I contacted the wife, the husband answered and said that I would get paid, but till now it is every time the same story, there is no real feedback.”

Alecia Louw says she fell into the same trap and lost R14 500 after booking a stay at Club Mykonos in December.

She explained: “When we checked into our accommodation, we got a message that our booking had been cancelled.

“We had to leave, but I went straight to the police station and opened a case.”

When the Daily Voice contacted F and R Holiday Accommodation, our calls were not answered.

The husband responded to our WhatsApp message saying that we should send him interview questions; however, he did not answer any of the questions after numerous follow-ups.

Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk confirmed that fraud cases were reported for investigation with no arrest made as yet, as investigations continue.
