The Bellville Regional Court has sentenced Randal Louw to 15 years in prison for his involvement in a gang-related shooting that resulted in two tragic deaths.

Louw was given direct imprisonment for his role in the tragic murders of 15-year-old Jerodin Eimon and 19-year-old female bystander Donald Jonkers.

The incidents occurred during a gang-related shooting on October 10, 2024, casting a grim shadow over the local community.

The harrowing event unfolded around 7pm, when Louw, alongside two accomplices, engaged in a reckless shooting that not only claimed the life of Eimon, who was reportedly affiliated with gangs, but also tragically ended the life of Jonkers, an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire.

Detective Warrant Officer Heinrich Marais of Durbanville Detectives took charge of the case, employing his expertise to meticulously gather evidence that would ultimately lead to the conviction of Louw.

Police spokesperson, Constable Ndakhe Gwala explained: "On Tuesday, January 20, Randal Louw was sentenced to 15 years for murder, 10 years for possession of an unlicensed firearm and 12 months for possession of ammunition. The three sentences will run concurrently. His co-accused are awaiting their sentencing in February 2026.
