Simon’s Town police have appealed to the public for assistance in locating 35-year-old South African Navy member Bonginkosi Nkambule, who has been reported missing after failing to report for duty earlier this month.
Nkambule was last seen on Friday, December 12 2025, when he left his place of work in Simon’s Town wearing his SA Navy uniform. He did not report for duty the following day and has not been seen since.
Police said the circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain unclear, despite extensive follow-up by investigators.
“The investigating officer followed up all leads in a bid to locate Bonginkosi, without success,” police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg said.
Authorities are now urging anyone who may have seen Nkambule after he left work, or who may have information that could assist in tracing his whereabouts, to come forward.
Anyone with information related to the case is requested to contact Detective Sergeant Portia Pitsi on 079 894 1302 or 082 559 4609. Information can also be shared anonymously via Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
Police stressed that even seemingly minor information could prove vital in helping to establish Nkambule’s movements and ensuring his safe return.
