The National Consumer Commission (NCC) has issued a recall for specific Domestos Lemon and Summer Fresh 750ml cleaning products due to a packaging defect that poses a risk of leakage.
According to the NCC, the affected products were manufactured between August and September 2025, and some bottles may have a pinhole at the base, which can lead to spillage and potential skin or surface contact.
"According to Unilever, some bottles may have a pinhole defect at the bottom, which can cause leakage when pressure is applied. This may result in product spillage and potential skin or surface contact," the consumer watchdog.
"The suppliers have begun removing affected stock from stores and warehouses and are collaborating with their packaging supplier to prevent the defect from recurring".
Consumers who have purchased these products are urged to return them to their point of purchase for a full refund.
"While the stock might be with the retailers only, there is a high possibility that the product might have been distributed for trade. Consumers who might have the affected product recall are urged to return the product to their point of purchase for a full refund".
The consumer watchdog also announced the recall of three Ford Ranger vehicles (2023–2024 models) fitted with Solis lights due to a potential fire risk caused by corroded wiring connectors.
"According to Ford, the recall is due to a high resistance short between the positive and negative in the Solis lights wiring connector terminal pins. This results from moisture and the associated corrosive damage to the pins".
"This may result in excessive heat damage to internal terminals of the Solis wiring connector, and a prolonged high-resistance short can create excessive heat, leading to potential vehicle fire. As the circuit is powered at all times, fires may occur when the vehicle is attended or unattended and parked, creating the risk of fires spreading to adjacent property or structures."
