Not all heroes wear capes; some carry geese.

These are the words of the Sea Point Central Improvement District (CID), which took to social media to express their gratitude towards their team and SRG Security for their rescue of a mother Egyptian goose and chicks, who had wandered into a private residence.

Sea Point CID said that had it not been for the team's quick and swift reaction, the fate of the mother goose and her chicks could have been fatal.

“Our Sea Point CID security team, together with SRG Security, stepped in to assist a mother Egyptian goose and her chicks, who had wandered into a private residence,” said Sea Point CID.

“To make their way back to safety, they would have had to cross a busy main road, an accident just waiting to happen.

“Without hesitation, both teams jumped into action, gently collecting the mother and her little ones and safely relocating them in their patrol vans to the beachfront, where they happily waddled and splashed away into the water.”

Jacques Weber, Chairperson of the Sea Point CID, said: “This heartwarming moment reminds us that our work in the community isn’t only about keeping people safe; it’s about protecting everyone who shares our environment.

“It’s moments like these that truly highlight the essence of community safety: protecting everyone, including residents, visitors, and the wildlife that call Sea Point home.”
