Western Province dominates SA Natural Bodybuilding Championships with 22 gold medals

Western Province Natural Bodybuilding Federation (WPNBF) walked off with 22 gold medals at the 75th Anniversary of the South African Natural Bodybuilding Championships held in Gqeberha.
One of the competitors was Melvin Moses, a 72-year-old Cancer survivor from Mitchells Plain.
The SA Natural Bodybuilding Association took to their Facebook page where they congratulated Moses who achieved 2nd place in the over 60 years division.
The event which took place on October 4, which saw 25 athletes from WPNBF competing.
They managed to come home with 22 impressive gold medals, which included 3 Overall Titles: Ladies Overall, Men’s Physique Overall and Senior Male Overall.
The former presidents of the South African Natural Bodybuilding Association, Hoosain Bester and Godfrey Simmons also received diplomas from current president Lolene Lawrence.

SA Natural Bodybuilding said it was in recognition for their contributions over decades of passionate service to develop and promote drug-free natural bodybuilding in South Africa and internationally.
Seasoned and retired natural bodybuilder, Cherzeley Zyster, 68, of Mitchells Plain who won over 100 trophies, and now focuses on training new legends and sportsmen, also spends his time teaching young children how to place chess.
Zyster was the Master of ceremonies and a Call out judge at the competition.
Zyster, coach and founder of Chezzies School of Excellence in Mitchells Plain, trained Benjamin Amilkar Vunza, who came home with 3 titles such as in the Middle Weight division, Men’s Physique and overall title Men's Physique.
“I coach about twenty athletes from across the Western Cape who come to the club, I teach them the posing strategies and how to prepare and their diet,” he said.
“The manager of our club, Brian Scheffers, recruits athletes from gyms.
“He brought Benjamin to us, who is from Tafelsig.
“He won the physique in the tall and short division.
“He won three titles in his divisions.
“His very first competition in Parow, he won five titles on that day.
“Mr Moses is a cancer survivor and when I used to compete, we used to compete together, and he is from Westridge, representing Mitchells Plain.”
