The Western Cape police are appealing to the public for assistance in locating a wanted suspect, Adam Edwards. The Provincial Family Violence, Child Protection, and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit is actively working to track him down.
According to police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg, Edwards is wanted in connection with a sexual offence case that was registered at the Bothasig police station in August 2025.
“A warrant for his arrest was issued by the court,” Twigg said.
Police have urged anyone with information who can assist them with the investigation or who knows the whereabouts of Edwards to contact the investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Nomabandla Jokazi, at 082 827 2048 or Crime Stop at 08600 10111.
In a separate incident, police arrested a 47-year-old man in the Muizenberg policing precinct in the Overcome Heights informal settlement for possession of a firearm on Wednesday.
The members of the Anti-Gang Unit (AGU) were deployed to the area to curb gang violence.
“The members searched the informal dwelling and found a 9mm pistol with seven rounds of ammunition hidden between the clothes in the cupboard. He was arrested for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition,” Twigg said.
A 38-year-old man was arrested during stop-and-search operations in Mfuleni. The suspect was found in possession of 12 half mandrax tablets, 12 quarters, and one full mandrax tablet, as well as 71 small packets containing crystal meth (tik).
