Urgent appeal to help find 10-year-old Reamohetse Lekgetha, missing from Delft
A concerned mother from Delft is looking for her 10-year-old son who was last seen on July 18 when he left home to visit friends in Voorbrug, Delft.
Neboheng Lekgetha said her son Reamohetse Lekgetha who is only in Grade 3 would usually leave their house in Suburban and sleep over at friends for a few days at a time during the school holidays.
The mom explained: “Whenever it is school holiday he would always go visit his friends in Voorbrug. There are so many stories coming from the friends because they are also children, some say he left and ran in the direction of Wesbank side because there was a boy who was chasing and beating him. When he left the house on Friday everything was fine. He woke up in the morning, went to his grandmother and came back and dropped the clothes his grandmother bought him. Then I saw him around 4pm and he said his grandmother gave him a R5.
"He was playing outside. Around 6pm I noticed that he was not around, his friends said that he said that he was going to eat his money. We don’t know how he met these friends in Voorbrug because we do not even have family in Voorbrug.
"He usually goes missing, especially when it is the holiday, it is not the first time. But this time he did not come back.
"He would be missing for a week or two weeks then we will find him but this time he did not come back.
Neboheng says the family has searched and checked everywhere but Reamohtse is nowhere to be found. She said that she is concerned for his safety as he did not return home to go to school.
“He usually skarrels (hustles) with those boys at Delft Mall but they say they have not seen him since last week Tuesday.”
"I went to search for him in Wesbank as well, but those boys say they do not know him. When he disappears he would be in the area and people would still see him but he would not come back home.
"When we see him then he would start running, we are not sure what is the reason that he would not want to be at home.”
Reamohetse Lekgetha was last seen wearing a grey top, grey jeans and green takkies. He is a small-built male with brown eyes and short black hair.
