In a heartwarming display of community spirit, the Tricia Survé Foundation brought together 100 women and their children for a day dedicated to giving and healing. The event, held in Newton, highlighted the foundation’s commitment to providing dignity and hope to those often overlooked in society.
The women were welcomed with essentials that the community needs, including clothing, shoes, and food parcels. Tricia Survé, founder of the foundation, addressed the crowd, emphasising the importance of recognition and resilience.
“Today is about more than just receiving; it’s about being seen, heard, and acknowledged for your resilience,” she stated, reflecting the foundation’s mission to uplift marginalised communities through both material support and emotional empowerment.
The event served as a platform for the women of Newton to voice their concerns and needs. It transformed into a safe haven for healing, solidarity, and community-building, in line with the foundation's goal of inspiring positivity. Participants engaged in discussions about their challenges, highlighting a sense of unity and shared purpose among attendees.
Survé, who grew up in Newton, expressed her personal connection to the community. Her motivation for establishing the foundation stems from a desire to give back to the place that shaped her life. Through her efforts, Survé aims to uplift others, providing them with the tools to overcome challenging circumstances and achieve their goals in life.
Feedback from the group of women was overwhelmingly positive, with many highlighting the importance of initiatives that genuinely listen to the voices of women and children in underserved communities.
