. Police uncover a significant cache of weapons and drugs during a recent operation in Cape Town, leading to the arrest of two suspects linked to the Fancy Boys gang.

The man and woman arrested by the Anti-Gang Unit earlier this week in connection with a cache of firearms, drugs and explosives found at storage facilities in Bellville- South and Sitkland have indicated they will proceed with a formal bail application.
Sources reveal the cache allegedly belongs to the prominent gang, the Fancy Boys in Cape Town.
The National Prosecuting Authority’s (NPA) Eric Ntabazalila confirmed that, Marwaan Alexander and Rushaan de Villiers, appeared in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday. They are facing an arsenal of charges, including contravening the firearms act, the explosives act, and dealing in drugs.
"More charges are likely to be added as the investigation continues," Ntabazalila said. "Their case has been postponed to March 12 for bail information and a possible bail application.
Police said they were confident that as the investigation continues, that more arrests will be imminent. The bust follows weeks of surveillance at the storage facilities. The operation, carried out on Monday, was led by the Anti Gang Unit investigators, Crime Intelligence (Counter Gangs and Narcotics) and Visible Policing Anti Gang Unit members.
Later that evening, the team raided a second storage unit in Stikland, confiscating two kilograms of heroin. Police spokesperson, Novela Potelwa said the efforts of the team were commended by SAPS management as the Western Cape battles shooting incidents that result in murder and attempted murder cases.
