Be Part of the Flavours of Ramadan** Community Cookbook**

Cape Town’s Ramadan traditions are as diverse and vibrant as the city itself, from the familiar aroma of samoosas frying before boeka to cherished family dishes passed down through generations. This year, The Cape Argus and Weekend Argus are celebrating these traditions with a special community-driven project: the Flavours of Ramadan Cookbook.

The cookbook will be distributed at the Cape Town Ramadan & Lifestyle Expo, and we want you to be part of it.

Share Your Best Ramadan Recipe

We are calling on home cooks, families, food lovers, and anyone with a treasured Ramadan dish to submit their favourite recipe. Whether it’s a nostalgic family classic, a modern twist, or a dish that carries special meaning during the holy month, we want to feature it.

What to Send

Email your submission to [email protected] and include:

  • The full recipe

    • All ingredients with measurements

    • Step-by-step method

    • Prep & cooking time

    • How many it serves

  • A high-quality photo of the final dish

  • A headshot of yourself (to be featured with your recipe)

  • A short paragraph about why this recipe is meaningful to you during Ramadan — your story matters as much as the meal

Deadline for Submissions: 4 January 2026

Your Story, Your Flavour, Your Cape Town
