The Golden Valley Casino and Hotel in Worcester has recently undergone a significant transformation, aiming to provide visitors with a mix of luxury and comfort in a scenic environment.

Situated just off the N1, the property has completed its makeover and is now open to the public.

Last week, general manager Melanie Durant shared insights into the hotel's history, noting that it was previously known as a lodge.

Guests witnessed the unveiling of the new name and enjoyed performances by dancers in vibrant costumes, complete with impressive fire displays.

The refurbishment began in March 2025, coinciding with the closure of the group’s 5-star Table Bay hotel for renovations. Before any demolition took place, some of the high-end furnishings from Table Bay were relocated to Golden Valley.

The hotel features 97 rooms, each adorned with elegant Victorian-style furniture that complements the green accent walls, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The king-size two-poster beds, dressed in crisp white linens and autumn-hued quilts, invite guests to relax. Comfortable chairs, footrests, and couches in warm tones add to the overall inviting feel.

Nestled in the Breede River Valley, Worcester, the complex is surrounded by the dramatic cliffs of the Hex River Mountains to the north and the Du Toitskloof and Slanghoek Mountain ranges to the west. This location serves as an excellent base for exploring the natural beauty of the area.
