Music, anime and Bluey in Joburg this weekend

Malibongwe Arts Festival: Tribute to Women

The Malibongwe Arts Festival’s “Tribute to Women” concert features a line-up of top musical acts.

They include Keisha White, Makhadzi, Lloyiso, The Soil, Mi Casa, Thandiswa Mazwai and Ami Faku, who will all take to the stage in this picnic-style, family-friendly gathering this Women’s Month.

Attendees are urged to bring their picnic blankets and camp chairs. However, hard coolers and tables will not be allowed.

Where: Marks Park in Emmarentia.

When: Sunday, August 24, from 9am.

Cape Town International Animation Festival

The final leg of the Cape Town International Animation Festival (CTIAF) will feature a range of offerings.

This includes a curated short film compilation featuring the best of South African and African animation. “Rorisang & The Gurlz”, a new animated series, will also be screened at the event, which will also host panel discussions.

Where: The Bioscope Independent Cinema in Milpark.

When: Saturday, August 23, from 11am.

Bluey in Johannesburg

Youngsters in Joburg are in for a treat as Bluey, the much-loved Australian children’s television character, will be visiting Design Quarter’s Central Court for an interactive experience.

They will be able to meet Bluey in person, enjoy photo opportunities on stage and participate in fun activities including a colouring-in station and more. 

Where: The Design Quarter Shopping Centre in Bryanston.

When: Saturday, August 23, from 11am.
