Cape Town is buzzing, and it’s not just the usual city energy.

The Cape Town International Jazz Festival is back, turning the city into a non-stop music playground this weekend.

Known as one of the biggest jazz festivals on the continent and one of the best in the world, it’s bringing together a mix of international heavyweights and South African favourites for a weekend full of soul, rhythm, and sheer talent.

The line-up is as exciting as it is diverse. From seasoned jazz legends to rising stars, there’s something for everyone.

And if you thought jazz was just smooth tunes in a corner, think again. Afro-fusion, soul, and contemporary beats are all part of the mix, giving the festival a vibe that’s both classic and fresh.

Before the main events even kick off, the city has already been treated to a lively community concert that preceded the festival, setting the tone for a weekend of spontaneous expression and celebratory dancing.

As crowds gather, the love for music spills out into the streets, showcasing Cape Town's undeniable passion for its vibrant cultural scene. The rhythm of the city remains unyielding, energised by the anticipation of the days to come.

Once inside the main festival, attendees can revel in hours of live sets across multiple stages, each evening offering a compelling array of sounds and styles that span the spectrum of jazz music.

The festival promises a plethora of experiences as listeners can leap from one performance to another, embodying the blend of heritage and innovation that fuels the genre.
