From comedy and music to a book festival, there's plenty to do in Cape Town this weekend
Marc Lottering is set to bring the laughs with his “Marc Eugene Lottering” comedy set at the Baxter Theatre.

Marc Eugene Lottering
Seasoned comedian Marc Lottering brings his latest hit show back to Cape Town. In this special, he dives into the theme of family and heritage, sharing hilarious stories from his colourful family tree.
The show has already sold out in Joburg and Cape Town earlier this year, with many calling it his best yet.
Lottering has written 20 one-man shows as well as three musicals which earned him multiple awards, including an induction into the Comics Choice Hall of Fame.
When: Runs until October 11 at 7:30pm, with a Saturday matinee at 4.30pm.
Where: Baxter Theatre Centre.
Khayelitsha Book Festival
This annual festival celebrates the power of reading and storytelling under the theme “We Read, We Write: A Declaration…”.
It brings together authors, poets, educators and young readers for book launches, panel discussions, performances and workshops.
The event highlights literature as a tool for identity, empowerment and change, with a strong focus on community voices.
When: Friday, September 26, until Sunday, September 28.
Where: The Kilombo Village in Khayelitsha from 9.45am.
Misty Cliffs
Cape Town trio Misty Cliffs, made up of Nick Turner, Nick Catto and Matt Catto, will take the stage in Noordhoek for an evening of live music.
Their sound is built on expressive guitar work, rhythmic bass grooves and dynamic drumming, with lyrics that are both soulful and reflective. The show offers an intimate night of music and storytelling.
When: Sunday, September 28, from 6pm to 9.30pm.
Where: Cafe Roux in Noordhoek.
