A slick underworld courier know only as "The Transporter" breaks one of his rules when he opens a package he is delivering and finds a beautiful woman inside.

Before he's done muttering that he should know better than to break his own rules, he's neck-deep in trouble with all sorts of criminal types who, it turns out, are running a Chinese

slavery ring in Europe.

As the title character, Jason Statham (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch and The One) turns in an enjoyable performance and has the makings of a reliable action man in movies to come.

Although The Transporter is predictably light on plot, the car chases and action sequences are suitably thrilling, and interspersed with some amusing moments, making this movie a very worthwhile rental.
