If you’ve been scrolling for a binge-worthy reality show, then look no further than "Love Thy Nader".
Currently streaming on Disney+, the show follows sisters Brooks, Mary Holland, Grace Ann and Sarah Jane.
They are from the swamps of Louisiana, taking on the concrete jungle of New York City, and they are ready to take over the world.
"Love Thy Nader" instantly gives off old-school "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" vibes. I’m talking about the early days when the sisters were just starting out, weren’t afraid to fight dirty and had absolutely no problem outing cheating boyfriends on national television.
This show feels raw, messy and is genuinely entertaining.
The sisters all have interesting and unique personalities. Brooks, the eldest sister and leader of the pack, isn’t afraid to get messy on camera.
Then there is Grace Ann, who gets real about her potential alcohol problem and her life struggles. Mary Holland is the smart one, balancing the modelling world with her own career ambitions, while Sarah Jane is on a journey of her own, exploring her identity as a member of the queer community against the backdrop of their conservative Southern upbringing.
"Love Thy Nader" doesn't shy away from discussing pressing societal issues, confronting the harsh realities that accompany the modelling industry, including the pressure to conform to unrealistic beauty standards.
The sisters talk about their battles with body image and the lengths some models go to achieve their ideals.
They also dive deep into queer identity and what happens when it clashes with your upbringing.
But, at its core, the show serves as a testament to the power of sisterhood, showcasing the support system each sister provides to the others as they tackle both personal and professional challenges.
"Love Thy Nader" has the potential to become the next big reality TV phenomenon. The formula is perfect: big personalities, petty fights, laugh-out-loud moments and a willingness to move forward together.
There is, of course, a ton of drama, that’s the point of the show, but it helps that they have great parents who are surprisingly down-to-earth and normal.
Season one leaves things on a bit of a cliffhanger with lots of unresolved drama, which definitely sets the stage for season two.
"Love Thy Nader" is raw, messy and genuinely entertaining.
Rating: *** solid and enjoyable, though not groundbreaking.
