Kim Kardashian’s legal drama "All’s Fair" is officially returning for a second season and South Africa is very much part of the hype.

The Ryan Murphy, created series, which blends glamour, legal fire, and star power, has quickly become one of Disney+’s most-talked-about titles locally following its exclusive SA launch.

Disney+ kicked off celebrations ahead of the show’s arrival with a luxe launch event at LUX Sandton, where the streamer unveiled the series to local media and influencers. The event echoed the show’s opulent aesthetic, offering chic photo moments, themed menus and an exclusive sneak peek of what South African viewers could expect.

Some of the stars who graced the event included Mihlali Ndamase, Thembi Seete, Mohau Seshoene, Buhle Samuels, Naledi Mallela, Nozipho Mqadi (Ntshangase), Tirelo Khale, and Larona Moagi, among others.

"All’s Fair" tells the story of a group of female divorce attorneys who break away from their male-dominated firm to start their own powerhouse practice.

Alongside Kardashian, the series features Hollywood heavyweights Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash-Betts, Teyana Taylor, Matthew Noszka, Sarah Paulson, and the legendary Glenn Close.

Despite the glossy cast and major viewer interest, the show has sparked divided reactions. Critics have been brutal, with "All’s Fair" sitting at a 3% Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer score, one of the lowest for a Ryan Murphy production. But audiences tell a different story, giving the show a much healthier 66% Popcornmeter rating, signalling that viewers are enjoying the drama, even if critics aren’t.

Hollywood icon Glenn Close has openly defended the series, insisting that the show is far better than critics suggest. Speaking to The Guardian, she said she has watched all nine episodes and described them as “pretty f***ing good,” adding: “It is what it is: it’s juicy and outrageous at times and touching.”

Close also praised Kardashian’s work ethic on set, calling her “lovely” to work with and “very smart.” She revealed that Kardashian studied her law flashcards between takes while pursuing her degree, which she has since obtained.

“I asked her, ‘Are you going to practise?’ And she said, ‘No, I just want it in my back pocket.’”
