Rapper Drake has revealed the release date for his ninth studio album, "Iceman", as May 15.
The five-time Grammy Award-winning artist got his fans excited before with an announcement that a giant ice sculpture appeared in a Toronto car park.
Streamer Kishka found Drake’s "Iceman" release date hidden inside a bag in the Toronto ice structure.
After pulling the bag from the installation, he made his way to Drake’s mansion and revealed on stream that the album drops May 15. Drake also gifted him cash for finding it.
Drake confirmed the date in a social media post.
This is the rapper’s first solo project since his 2023 "For All the Dogs" release and since his hot battle with Kendrick Lamar.
Fans got excited and took pictures with the sculpture and attempted to deepfrost it to uncover the release date. Videos of people trying to speed things up circulated online, from using flamethrower lighters to chipping away at the ice.
According to reports, Drake's "Iceman" structure had been roped off by police at least two times.
A spokesperson for Toronto Police told entertainment news correspondent, Loren Lorosa. "Drake's ice installation has been blocked off & deemed “unsafe” by police as of a certain time today 4/21/26.
"Why? I’m told it’s potentially because of ice shifting (but police couldn’t confirm that being the exact reason why, although they mentioned it), Toronto police say they’d only responded to Drake's ice sculpture two other times before this, strictly for crowd control."
Drake's fans are very excited for the release and are counting down the days. He has also been praised for his release strategy, which gained global attention.
