As Braamfontein’s cultural pulse readies itself for another defining moment, Lord Script is stepping forward with intention through the launch of Our Father Experience—a hip-hop gathering that places his artistry, vision and community at the forefront.
Set to bring together a dynamic mix of some of South Africa’s most exciting voices, the event signals a shift for Lord Script – from performer to curator, from participant to architect of his own cultural space.
The line-up reflects this vision, featuring a blend of established names and rising forces including Usimamane, Sjava, 25K, MSI and Qwellers.
Also joining the bill are UnclePartyTime, SixByNine, Dejavu, Zvri, Sliqe, DJ Speedsta and BK World – further reinforcing the event’s layered approach to sound, culture and experience.
Rather than simply assembling a popular roster, Our Father Experience feels intentionally curated – an extension of Lord Script’s own sonic identity and creative network. Speaking ahead of the show, Lord Script reflected on the significance of the moment, offering a glimpse into the mindset behind the experience: "It means a lot to me because it's something that I've always aspired to do in my life which is to be in front of people and see their reaction in their eyes of me doing what I love which is entertaining them and making them feel better when they not okay or just healing anybody with whatever message I have to say. So it definitely means a lot."
The title itself carries symbolic weight. Our Father Experience suggests themes of legacy, authority and vision—ideas that continue to shape a new generation of artists carving out their own paths within the industry.
Set in Braamfontein, a district long synonymous with youth culture and creative rebellion, the event taps into a legacy of artistic expression while pushing toward something new. As audiences gather in anticipation, Our Father Experience stands as more than just a night of music – it is a statement of intent.
And at the centre of it all, Lord Script is not just stepping onto a stage – he is stepping into his role.

SM: Our Father Experience feels intentional—what inspired you to create this platform?
LS: It was inspired by my ability to bring people together in terms of music collaboration and basically my city where I am which is Durban. So it is inspired by my entire catalogue, everybody that I’ve worked with and mentored. Basically a compilation of everybody that I’ve ever ever worked with that I have a personal relationship with.
SM: What can audiences expect from your performance on 3 April?
LS: It will be one of my favourite performances because it will be very difficult for me cause of how wide my catalogue is to put together the songs that I’ll be performing but at the same time it will be very emotional because they are certain songs that are personal in my life that I’ve never performed that I’m planning to dramatise and create a theatrical feeling when I’m performing so I am actually looking forward to my performance.
