The X streets are known for being a battlefield, and usually Nota Baloyi is the one dodging the bullets for his controversial comments. But the tide seems to have turned.

For the first time, South Africans are actually standing behind the controversial music executive, and the timeline is buzzing.

The drama unfolded during a recent episode of the "Music Pulse" podcast, where Baloyi and his co-host, Sfiso Ndlovu, got into a screaming match that quickly went viral.

The bone of contention? Multimedia powerhouse Somizi Mhlongo.

It all started when the pair discussed Mhlongo's past. Ndlovu attempted to defend him regarding his 2007 indecent assault conviction involving a waiter.

For context, Mhlongo is a registered sex offender in South Africa following that 2008 conviction.

Baloyi, never one to mince his words, absolutely lost it. He checked his co-host in real-time, sparking a heated debate that has everyone talking.

"Somizi was convicted. Somizi was convicted of sexually assaulting a waiter. The mere fact that you are defending something that he was convicted of. Before he even dressed people to go and perform at the 2010 World Cup, it happened," Baloyi said.

When Ndlovu tried to flip the script by bringing up Baloyi’s own legal battles, the tension hit a boiling point. Ndlovu interrupted, saying, "So it's because I mentioned your rape case".

For those who missed it, Baloyi was accused of rape by actress Itumeleng Bokaba in September 2024. However, the charges were later withdrawn, and Baloyi has maintained that the encounter was consensual, even accusing Bokaba of extortion.

Baloyi’s response to Ndlovu was fierce: "No, you can mention it, mention it. People Google it all the time. It was dismissed with prejudice. Understand what that means? It means the person lied. That means the person can be charged, you understand what I'm saying. That's how disgusting it is."

He didn't stop there. Baloyi suggested that Mhlongo might be pulling strings behind the scenes to try to discredit him through his own co-host.

"There are many cases that could be discussed. The mere fact that Somizi said that thing and wanted you to bring it to this show just shows you how stupid he is, because I'm going to open up a new a*****e for him right now.

"You don't come here and attack us by coming to our co-host and making them make allegations on the show. You don't do that, dawg! It's a serious thing."

Usually, Boloyi is the villain of the story, but the X streets are currently giving him his flowers for standing on business regarding the facts of Somizi's conviction.

Fans are calling out Ndlovu for being "unprepared" and "shady".

@Thabang_black23 commented: "Sfiso didn't do his research on the Somizi case, he was just happy to make nota a liar and also paint him as a rapist."

@NawfJazzy: "Sfiso is proof that you can be old and dumb."

@Scelozz wrote: "Sfiso should stop taking this man on. He makes him look like an ass."
